ZFDS Vision is “A reliable and preferred aero-medical service provider contributing to sustainable quality health for all”. Through this vision, the Service will enhance the attainment of its objectives. ZFDS will strive to become a trustworthy and consistent aero-medical service provider that is reliable and preferred.
To realize the vision and achieve the strategic results, Zambia Flying Doctor Service commits itself to the following mission statement: “To provide cost effective, quality and efficient aero-medical services in remote, rural and hard to reach areas and other parts of the country in order to combat human diseases and save lives”. Through the mission, the Service will contribute to the Ministry of health mission in the provision of equitable access to health services as close to the family as possible. Through this mission, ZFDS will be focused and stay on track and make right decisions about the future
The operations of Zambia Flying Doctor Service and conduct of staff will be anchored on the following seven (7) core values:
Integrity: are honest and uphold strong moral values that are beyond reproach in the execution of our mandate. This is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles.
Care: Our ability to connect with clients/patient depends on empathy. This is the provision of what is necessary for the health, welfare, maintenance, and protection of someone
Respect: We are open, honest and behave with integrity. This a feeling of deep admiration for someone by their abilities, qualities, or achievements and also alludes to the due regard for the feelings, wishes, or rights of others
Confidentiality: It is our responsibility and duty to protect privileged information and share entrusted information. This is the state of keeping or being kept secret or private;
Cleanliness: We strive to provide medical services in a clean and hygienic environment. This is the state or quality of being clean or being kept clean
Impartiality: We provide medical services with fairness and objectively. We consider different sides of a situation and give each side equal consideration. This is a principle of justice holding that decisions should be based on objectivity, rather than on the basis of bias, prejudice, or preferring the benefit to one person over another for improper reasons
Excellence: This is the quality of being outstanding or extremely good. As ZFDS we strive to provide quality and outstanding services
